  • How do you apply your Teruko Ikeda training in your life and work?

My life has been dramatically changed by the training. It has helped me in adjusting from being a sighted person to my current life as a blind individual. After the training, I have had an opportunity to pursue higher education abroad. The PC which was donated by Teruko Ikeda and the Japan Braille Library was useful in my studies, in participating in symposiums, and in making paper presentations. I am now also able to connect globally with other people and share ideas with them.

  • Most memorable experience during the Teruko Ikeda ICT Training

It was my first time to attend an international training. The ideas and cooperation between the instructor and my fellow trainees were very memorable. I was amazed by the ICT-related talents and skills shown by all the trainees from different countries. Being able to handle the Apple Mac Book was another memorable part of the training.

  • Thoughts you’d like to share with everyone

"Disability is not an inability". ICT has proven that persons are only physically impaired but they are not disabled. ICT has made the lives of people more convenient although they may have different sorts of impairment, whether the impairment is newly acquired or by birth. It’s up to them on how they have to cope with their way of life. Be positive and think positive.
